As Diarmed mentioned in the MM to the fleet, we are a NON-WAR Fleet, so we don't even bother with the Fleet Wars. It's something that's been in our CoC since day one

Firstly, no, researching does not raise any of your points (Energy, Hull, etc.).
Secondly, it's better to research first, THEN level. You will be better matched up against other players that way ...
