HA NOI — A photo exhibition honouring the relationship between Viet Nam and Thailand opened to public yesterday in Ha Noi.

Organised by the Thai Embassy in Viet Nam in conjunction with the Vietnam News Agency and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the exhibition celebrates the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two neighbouring countries.

The exhibition showcases nearly 200 photos, many of which are valuable documents on display for the first time. The photos focus on several different topics, including the land and people of Thailand and Viet Nam.

One photo depicts the historic house in Thailand's Nakhon Phanim Province where Nguyen Ai Quoc (President Ho Chi Minh) lived while orchestrating the independence movement in Viet Nam.

Others depict the meeting between President Ho and Thai Prime Minister Pridi Phanomyong in 1960, Prime Minister of Thailand General Kringsak Chomanan welcoming Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Van Dong in 1978, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at an audience with King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2006.

According to Thai Ambassador to Viet Nam Anuson Chinvanno, the events pictured in the exhibit show only a small part of the jigsaw puzzle that makes up the national relationship. "Nevertheless, they remind us of the great effort older generations put into fostering close ties between our two countries. They remind us to value our friendship and inspire us to work together to achieve even greater prosperity and security for our people
