Looking for advice on research

rustbucket Guest	Posted: Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:03 am    Post subject: Looking for advice on research   So I have about 3K points to blow on research. I am level 16 with stats of weap 50, shield 30, eng 35. Should I level up to about 25 (should only take a day or two) and then blow the points when I have a higher energy? And does researching Engines raise your energy? Thanks Rustbucket

Secondly, it's better to research first, THEN level. You will be better matched up against other players that way Lastly, a good way to gauge where abouts you should be in relation to level and research is to check out the Mining page (you can get there from whatever space station you are at). Generally moving from one to the next keeps you pretty even, although many of the levels are considerably lower than they should be for the stats given. Also, just as a side note, within Serenity, you need to have certain base stats in order to be promoted to the next rank. To be a 1st. Lt. you must have at least 500 total research (base stats) and be level 15. To move up to Captain, you must be at least level 25 with 1000 base stats. Hope that helps!

hgghg4 Guest	Posted: Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:02 am    Post subject:   I know this is an older thread but to bounce off Aisu's comment about research, lets put it this way i have 254min base state as my lowest stat and I am level 21, just by doing the asteroid belt and being attacked by other people and winning, my ship name is the Underestimated, very aptly named, modified i have almost 1000 Weapons stats. But research is more important then ships, items and levels all put together.
