Members of the Fleet Serenity adhere to the following Code of Conduct at all times:

General Rules

ALL members of the Fleet Serenity are responsible for reading and following the Code of Conduct as it is written here. Ignorance will not be excused.

Respect other members of the Fleet. No flaming, name-calling, etc. We are the Daughter Fleet of Browncoats, so this rule extends to their members as well. We have a loose no-attack policy with them. In general, we do not attack them and they do not attack us, but it is bound to happen from time to time.

Play nice with others. This means all players, including those outside the Fleet. PMs and Shout Box exchanges should be polite and cordial, no matter how hostile the other party may get. We are above that kind of behavior. If there is a problem with another player, please try to settle it between the arguing parties via PM first. If the issue cannot be resolved, all members involved must send a Zhong Xiao a PM with the details.

We strongly encourage self-sufficiency, but we are here to help each other. The protocols set forth in this Code of Conduct are meant to promote and build good habits, and to resist the urge to use a fleet as a crutch.

If you choose to change your ingame name (through your profile), PLEASE send me a PM and let me know, so that I can keep up with who's who. You may also want to MM Serenity and let your fellow fleetmates know who you are.

This Fleet is designed for casual gamers, new players, and those who wish to stay out of the Fleet Wars. Because of this last bit, please remember that each one of your actions represents the entire fleet, and collecting enemies is a sure way to drag the fleet into territory we were specifically designed to avoid. This includes, but is not limited to, how you present yourself in PMs and the Shout Box, online attacking, online raiding, heckling, harassing, etc.

If you feel you have outgrown Serenity and wish to step up to the Browncoats, you must have accomplished the following:
**Reached at least level 25
**Have total base stats of at least 1,000
**Been with Serenity for at least one week
**Been promoted to Shang Wei (See "Ranking System" below)
**PM me with your request, including your level, rank, how long you have been in Serenity, and the reason you wish to join the Browncoats. This information will be reviewed and, if suitable, be passed on to Shinobi273 (Fleet Owner of the Browncoats).

Attacking

We DO NOT online attack ANY players (unless it is specifically requested; see "Mercy Killing" below for more details). Disobeying this rule will result in immediate expulsion from the Fleet. Online attacks against this Fleet will not be tolerated, and we will retaliate against the offending party until they agree to cease online attacks against us. On a side note, the game will list you as offline after 10 minutes of no play, and will log you out after 20 minutes. If you are online attacked by someone else, please do the following IN ORDER:
**PM the person who attacked you to make sure that it was not an accident, and attempt to clear up any miscommunication.
**If you receive no response and you know they are online, or they repeatedly online attack you, Mass Mail (MM) the Fleet with:
***The player's name,
***An active link to his/her profile,
***The location of the offender,
***A note that you have PM'd the person who attacked you, and
***A copy of the event that shows the online attack.
**If the offender contacts a member of the Fleet with an agreement to cease online attacks against Serenity, MM the Fleet and let us know, so that we may stop attacking them, too.

Raiding

If you have been raided (online or offline), we do not retaliate as a Fleet. You need to be responsible and keep your cargo bay low, depositing money as soon as it is in your hot little hands. See "Tips/Advice" below for ways to protect yourself if you need to withdraw large sums of money while online.

If you have been raided online, you area allowed one (1) online hit against the person who raided you, but ONLY with the exception that you also PM the offender with your reason for attacking them.

We do not encourage online raiding of other players. If you choose to raid another player while he/she is online, you are solely responsible for your actions, and the Fleet is in no way obligated to help you get out of a situation that you put yourself in. However, remember that each time you online raid someone, as long as you wear the [S] tag, you are provoking a potential enemy for the entire Fleet. This Fleet was designed to stay OUT of the Fleet Wars, so please keep that in mind at all times. Continual problematic online raids against other players will result in demotion to Probationary status, and eventual ejection from the Fleet.

If you raid someone when they are offline, and they retaliate by attacking you online, please first PM them and POLITELY explain that they need to be responsible for their money. If they continue to attack you online, contact a Zhong Xiao or the Fleet Owner to assist you.

If you find what is called a "Cash Cow" (an offline player who has left a lot of money in their cargo bay), MM the Fleet with an active link, and RAID ONLY. This allows the entire Fleet to capitalize on a money-making opportunity without having to wait 15 minutes for the Cash Cow to get our of the Ship Yard. If a non-Serenity player attacks the Cash Cow, our no-attacking policy remains in effect.

Ranking System

The ranking system is as follows:

**Xue Yuan (Cadet)- All members begin here. After one week, you can be promoted to Mate. During this week, you are expected to be actively involved in the game. You can also be demoted to Xue Yuan as a punishment for inappropriate behavior. New members coming from Browncoats who were Probationary with them or under level 15 will be Xue Yuan with us for one week as well.

**Shao Wei (JR LT) - The majority of regular members will be here. Members who were previously in Browncoats and above level 15 will automatically be promoted to this rank.

**Shang Wei (SR LT) - These members have gone above and beyond in Serenity, having reached level 25 and having total base stats of at least 1,000. This is where you need to be if you wish to apply for Browncoats.

**Zhong Xiao (CMDR) - These members have shown excellent progress and assistance to the Fleet, and have been selected to help train other Serenity members. They are the authorities of the Fleet.

Fleet Mass Mail (MM)

All members are able to Mass Mail (MM) the Fleet. You can do this by clicking on "Fleet" in your left menu, and clicking "Mass Mail." OR You may begin a new message, and check the box that says "Mass Mail Fleet." When you MM the fleet, please put "MM" before your subject so that the Fleet knows that the message is to everyone and not a private message to one player (Example: "MM: Request for Class X Shield").

Fleet Vault and Armory

The Armory and Vault are currently under the supervision of Zhong Xiao Commander Diarmed.
Only players that have passed their Probationary periods are entitled to items/cash from the Fleet. Exceptions may be requested on a case by case basis.
Only one item per player.
If the requested item is unavailable or currently loaned out to another player, or the Fleet's Vault does not have enough cash to sponsor the request, Fleet members will be placed on a holding list in order that the requests are received

The items that players may request are based on their level:
***Level 1 and up may borrow Very Common items (Class I Energy Shield, Laser Beam).
***Level 8 and up may borrow Common items (Class III Energy Shield, Class III Drive Unit, Fusion Beam, Heavy Armor).
***Level 13 and up may borrow Uncommon items (Class V Drive Unit, Class V Energy Shield, Ion Pulse Heavy Cannon, Neutron Emitter Array, Tritanium Armor).
***All items not listed will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Cash will be loaned out primarily to help players to upgrade their ships. We will consider other requests for loans on a case by case basis. You must obtain the level indicated to be eligible for a loan to obtain the following ships:
***Sloop Mk. III - Minimum level required: 5
***Frigate Mk. I - Minimum level required: 13
***Cruiser Mk. I - Minimum level required: 25

Fleet Wars

We do not plan to participate in Fleet Wars. This Daughter Fleet was borne from the first Browncoats War in response to members who could not contribute to the battle. However, as the Fleet Wars currently operate, if another Fleet declares war on us, we have no choice but to engage in battle or surrender. This is out of our control except in that you can strive to NOT anger other players and/or Fleets. If you wish to participate in the Fleet Wars, you are welcome to apply for membership into the higher-level, more elite Browncoats.

Inactivity

Inactivity for more than two weeks will result in ejection from the Fleet. If you have to be away for a prolonged period of time (illness, vacation/holiday, emergencies, etc.), please send me or a Zhong Xiao a PM. If you wish to leave the Fleet for any reason, please PM me with your reason. If you are ejected/leave from the Fleet and wish to return at a later time, PM me and we can discuss options for re-injection into the Fleet. You will never be ejected from the Fleet without a PM explaining why.

Warnings/Expulsion

Each member is given two warnings before being removed from the Fleet. Three strikes, you're out!

Immediate expulsion will be given for online attacking of ANY KIND, inactivity for more than two weeks, or inexcusable behavior. Situations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, decided upon by the collaboration of the Fleet Owner with all Zhong Xiao.

Mercy Killing

Mercy Killing is pretty much just what it sounds like. When you get to a certain level, regaining your hull points by waiting takes a lot longer than just getting yourself into the shipyard. In this case, you can request another player to "Mercy Kill" (MK) you, giving you a free repair in the Ship Yard, and giving them free XP. We have no specific Fleet policy on this, as it is a requested online attack, but if you ask someone for a Mercy Kill, remember to deposit all of your cargo into Galactic Credit, and unequip any weapons/armor. This ensures that the process goes smoothly and you don't lose anything in the exchange. If another player requests to be Mercy Killed, remind them to put away their money (so that you do not accidentally take any) and remove their equipment (this slims the chances of them killing you).

Tips/Advice

EVERY HOUR: Pick Through Space Debris. Free money and items.

EVERY DAY: Slot Machines. You will always walk away with more than you started with (I usually start with about $200).

RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH! This is your best friend. Do it as often as you can. Don't let one stat overpower the other two. Waiting until Energy and Research are BOTH at 100% yields the best results. Time your research with your level; don't level too fast without researching, as this will hurt later down the road. It is also productive to use Mining as a goal for yourself, to keep your stats evened out (select mining areas with the same stat requirement across the board). Mining requirements use your base stats as shown on the "Research" page, not your modified stats with installed items. Plus, mining is free money!

NEVER leave your money out in your cargo bay. When you have gained cargo, immediately deposit it into Galactic Credit. If you need to take out large sums of money (anything over 20K), deposit all of your money and suicide on an offline player way higher level than you so that you are put into the shipyard. This way, no one can raid you or attack you and steal your money. You can withdraw money, upgrade your ship, and buy items from the market while in the shipyard. DO NOT suicide on an online player, unless you have made arrangements with them, as this would also constitute as an online attack.

Item Market: Do not put items in the Item Market if you are not a Notorious Player. The transaction money will go to your cargo, and the buyer will attack or raid you. If you are online, and fast enough, this may not be an issue. If you are not Notorious, you can sell your items to a Zhong Xiao for your asking price, or arrange to give the item to a Notorious member of the Fleet and have them pay you when the item sells.

If you have a high-priced item and wish to sell it without a middle man, use the game forums to set up an auction. Remember to be cautious, and make arrangements so that you do not end up giving a person the item without getting paid, or get paid without sending the item to the buyer.

Salvage Forays: These are not worth as much as they say. Your Fuel is better spent exploring the Astroid Belt (you can access this by clicking on "Space" in the left menu). The Astroid Belts will almost always give you both XP and $$, and occasionally items. When you reach level 25, you can go to the Lower Belt and explore the Deep Astroid Belt. WELL WORTH IT. Your hull points need to be at least 25% to explore astroid belts.

Adrift in Space: Saving people from space, if successful, is money and XP in exchange for fuel. However, your engines need to be up to par to increase your chances.

Search: This is the best way to gain fast XP. Your energy must be over 23% and your hull points above 25% to attack another player.[/u]
